The burden of cancer globally and within South Africa is high, so organisations and patient groups around the world are doing their bit to help create education and awareness of the different types of cancer, to help reduce this burden.

World Cancer Day is an innitiative of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC).
This day is held annually around the world on 4th Februrary.

Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month (CCAM) is held globally each year in March. Be Cancer Aware's theme for this month is, "Ignoring a gut feeling?"

World Lymphoma Awareness Day (WLAD) is an innitiative of the Lymphoma Coalition, and is globbaly held annualy on 15th September.
Be Cancer Aware's theme for WLAD is "I am the voice of Lymphoma".

Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) is held globally every October. The pink ribbon is synonomous with BCAM.
Be Cancer Aware has it's own pink and orange ribbon, to encourage women to think beyond pink, get the right tests and if diagnosed to know their HER2 status.
Lung Cancer Awareness Month (LCAM) is held globally in November.
Be Cancer Aware's theme for this month vary each year.
